How to advertise a hotel receptionist job in Malta

Use hotel role, department, shift and language traits to write a useful receptionist or night auditor vacancy.

A hotel receptionist vacancy should explain the guest-facing work and the shift pattern, not just ask for a friendly personality. Candidates in Malta may be comparing reception, reservations and night audit roles with very different hours. Make the actual position clear before describing the wider hotel.

1. Choose the job category and relevant traits

Choose Jobs → Hospitality → Hotels. Job role includes Receptionist, Night auditor, Concierge, Reservations agent and Guest relations officer. Department includes Reception, Housekeeping, Reservations, Food and beverage and Management. Hotel category offers 3-star, 4-star, 5-star, Boutique and Other. Select the correct role and department rather than several unrelated vacancies in one advert. Shift pattern and the available language traits help candidates understand the working arrangement.

2. Describe the actual role and working conditions

A title could be “Hotel receptionist — rotating shifts in St Julian’s”. Describe check-in, guest enquiries, bookings and any cash-handling responsibilities. State whether night work is part of the role. Explain which languages are needed for the actual duties and which are helpful. If a specific property-management system matters, name it in the description without inventing a dedicated filter.

3. Make the salary and application route clear

State the base salary clearly and explain any allowances or variable payments separately. If accommodation or meals are offered, describe the actual terms rather than using them as an unexplained substitute for pay. Clarify the workplace and how the roster is communicated. An external application page should identify the same hotel and vacancy.

In the job form, enter Salary from and, if useful, the optional maximum amount. Check Salary period: it defaults to Per year, so change it if you mean an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly amount. Choose the salary currency and Gross / net consistently with the offer. Required languages and Contract arrangement describe the vacancy; they do not run an automated candidate-scoring process. Complete required fields and use Detailed information for optional traits.

4. Review and publish the vacancy

  • Choose Receptionist or Night auditor to match the real duties.

  • Specify the department and genuine hotel category.

  • Explain shift rotation, night work and weekend expectations.

  • List only job-relevant language needs.

Applicants using Maltizzi must attach a CV saved in their profile; you can discuss the application and download its attached CV in the application conversation. External application links can point to your genuine recruitment system. Hiring decisions and any employment or work-permit obligations remain with the relevant parties.

Can I recruit several hotel departments in one advert?

A focused vacancy is easier to understand and filter. Separate unrelated roles, such as receptionist and maintenance technician, where they have different responsibilities and conditions. Do not add many roles solely to gain visibility in more searches.

Read how to publish a listing and how category filters work. Keep the title, salary and traits consistent. Maltizzi is not a substitute for any official recruitment or permit process, and posting here does not guarantee candidates or search-engine visibility.
