How to advertise an accounting or bookkeeping job in Malta

Describe the finance role, qualification level, responsibilities and salary without confusing different accounting positions.

An accounts clerk, a bookkeeper and an accountant do not necessarily have the same duties or qualification needs. A useful finance vacancy explains the level of responsibility and the kind of work involved. That makes it easier for candidates to judge the role without assuming every accounting advert requires the same background.

1. Choose the job category and relevant traits

Choose Jobs → Professional → Finance. Job role includes Accountant, Accounts payable specialist, Accounts receivable specialist, Bookkeeper, Payroll specialist, Financial analyst and Auditor. Area includes Accounting, Audit, Tax, Financial analysis, Payroll, Banking and Other. Qualification includes ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, University degree and Not required. Select only relevant qualifications; explain whether completed study, part-qualified status or equivalent experience is acceptable.

2. Describe the actual role and working conditions

A title such as “Accounts payable specialist — hybrid in Malta” is precise. Describe invoice processing, reconciliations, reporting or payroll tasks as appropriate. Explain whether the person will prepare information, review it or sign it off. Name relevant accounting software in the text and separate essential experience from training that will be provided.

3. Make the salary and application route clear

State the salary basis and period clearly, along with office attendance and month-end expectations. If the position is part-time, make the expected hours and the basis of the advertised amount explicit. A candidate should not have to guess whether an annual figure is full-time equivalent or the actual part-time salary.

In the job form, enter Salary from and, if useful, the optional maximum amount. Check Salary period: it defaults to Per year, so change it if you mean an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly amount. Choose the salary currency and Gross / net consistently with the offer. Required languages and Contract arrangement describe the vacancy; they do not run an automated candidate-scoring process. Complete required fields and use Detailed information for optional traits.

4. Review and publish the vacancy

  • Choose the actual finance role and area.

  • Explain qualification or part-qualified expectations.

  • Distinguish preparation, review and sign-off duties.

  • Make part-time hours and salary basis unambiguous.

No. Select the relevant options and explain acceptable alternatives in the description. The filters describe the vacancy; they do not assess professional authorisation or automatically certify that a candidate is qualified for a regulated activity.
